Since being on KPAX and in the Ravalli Republic twice, we have been meeting new guests daily as more have become aware of our service. They have shared stories of the struggles they are facing and with every story I am reminded that most of us are only a paycheck away from being in their shoes. I have learned, since starting LLH, it is easy to hear about others' situations and judge them off the information you are told. I find myself not only reminding myself but saying to others that “there is one judge, and I am not it”. Listening without an agenda is a good way to show compassion and offer them a safe space to not feel judged.
